21:00   Natalio Sued Trio
Natalio Sued-sax Marcos Baggiani-drums Burton Greene-piano

This trio combines three diferent aprouches of music at once: Natalio Sued has a distinct sound which comes from the mixture of simplicity and complexity. His reach tone and versatility can drive the music anywhere. Marcos Baggiani is an adventurous drummer who has developed his own way of playing and has lately become an active member of the Dutch free jazz scene. Burton Greene is a live legend who took part of the New York's free jazz movement of the '60s, performing with such major figures as Marion Brown, Sam Rivers, Gato Barbieri, and Alan Silva. He also became one of the few free jazz musicians to experiment with synthesizers. Be the witness of the unique meeting between these three musicians who get together for the first time!

4 different pieces: 1) piece for a dancer and a semi-improvised piano. 2) solo piece one for piano/tape/voice, in which there will be composed tape pieces as well as live piano. 3) solo piece two for piano/tape/voice, 4) solo piece for voice. The aim of this performance is to exlore my creativity without the boundaries or limits of any outsider. Even letting out conscious composing thoughts, but having a situation cause an ambiance from which the music evolves. Without an intellectually set purpouse or meaning. The pieces will be short and different from each other, reflecting a atmoshpere they were created in.

23:00   Klee
Fabrizio Brusca: guitar/composition (Italy) Rosolino Marinello: tenor, alto, soprano saxes and clarinet/composition (Italy) Kestutis Vaiginis: tenor, alto, soprano saxes and flute/composition (Lithuania) Kyung Sup: double bass (South Korea) Kristijan Krajncan: drums/composition (Slovenia)

One day I was reading an article about Paul Klee, painter of “The Blue Knight Group” (Monaco, 1912) written in 1924 in Jena. Here he compared the artist creative act with the similar function of the tree. In few words he explained that the artist, as the tree does, moves and grows by his roots to create his “leaves” and after that his “fruits”. So we don’t expect that the tree, after its roots, creates other roots. Klee makes clear the fact that creativity is a “natural” process. In this way the artist has to be aware of the tradition but then he has to move forward, creating something different, something new! Klee Quintet borns in the 2005; all the members are students from The Prins Claus Conservatory in Groningen (Kestutis Vaiginis started the second face in Amsterdam in 2006). Their goal is to extend the jazz boundaries involving other music elements from classic and folk music (African, Balkan, latin…), looking in the end for a good “synthesis” (and not just for a combination of styles), where melody and rhythm are the essential things.
