Improvisations and also some new pieces written by Tobias which Lackritz will later play for this year’s North Sea Jazz Composition Project.
Lakritze, (english: Liquorice) is the root of Glycyrrhiza glabra from which a sweet flavour can be extracted. In the Netherlands it is mixed with ammonium chloride to create the very popular salty liquorice known as zoute drop. Throughout Italy unsweetened liquorice is consumed in the form of small black pieces; the taste is bitter and intense.
Large doses of liquorice extract can lead to a syndrome known as apparent mineralocorticoid excess.
A 56-year-old Yorkshire woman who had eaten too much Pontefract cake was hospitalized with liquorice overdose (200 grams) which caused muscle failure. The hospital restored her potassium levels and she was up and walking about within four days.

Duo Stringwork- Tuning the tunes
Daniel Levin - cello
Raoul van der Weide contrabass, crackle box, object
This is a meeting of two prolific storytellers, balancing on their strings of memory and imagination - creating a variety of refreshing and refractory improvised tunes. Sometimes loose, sometimes structured but always emerging within invisible artistic frames enlighten by a subtle sense of drama and distance.
