This coming sunday afternoon, june 19th, in Jazzinverdan, Zaandam: Trytone's Gonçalo Almeida and Tobias Klein together with Dutch drum legend Martin van Duynhoven. Their cd 'Vibrate in Sympathy' was released on Clean Feed last year. "A beautiful trio ... lively, spontaneous and surprisingly catchy. Vibrate in Sympathy is an album that completely lives up to its title." (Guy Peters, enola.be)

A review of Büyükberber/Klein's cd 'Reverse Camouflage' in sands-zine.com, by Rinus de Wit! "What is contained is an engaging music and the many tentacles, similar to those depicted on the cover of the octopus, ready to grab you and drag you with them.
I believe that the sands-zine reader is pretty streetwise, adventurous and curious to take an interest in a record like this, so I venture to recommend their purchase not only to fans of the clarinet, but to all who read this review."

Trytone Amsterdam shared Spinifex's post.

Spinifex Maximus was released on Trytone last fall.

Spinifex

A review of the Spinifex Maximus cd by Ken Waxman in Jazzword! "Janus-like however, “Ost” is the very model of imaginative arranging with the narrative sloping from elevated to low tones like water seeping down naturally formed rock shelving. Teetering timbres from all concerns are directed into chromatic lines as if section leaders are sheep dogs with a recalcitrant flock, finally herding all textures into an aggressively low-key finale."

All about Jazz made a nice review of the cd 'Les Indignés' - C.B.G (trytone records)
Ellery Eskelin on tenor, Guillermo Celano on guitar, Clemens van der Feen on bass and Marcos Baggiani on drums.

“Les Indignés is so beautifully complex that it could be described in language a sommelier may use.
There are moments of wistfulness that sit apart from grooves and occasional free blowing and shredding guitar. Five of the eight compositions are quite lengthy and thus open themselves to the patient development of ideas and alternative directions.
Some of the ironies that are baked into the composition titles, play themselves out in the paradoxical paths the music follows.
As that sommelier might say, the music breathes with life”.

Trytone Amsterdam with Marcos Baggiani and 2 others.

A great review of New York City Jazz Records about the album “Erasing Borders" C.B.G released in 2015 by Trytone.

“Erasing Borders, seven Celano compositions reflecting the human and ecological consequences of our lifestyle. Unlike obvious musical propagandists like Phil Ochs or Frederic Rzewski, Celano doesn’t use lyrics or melodrama to make his point. Instead his writing is concerned with nuance and suggestion”.

The blog covers releases in the areas of free and mainstream jazz, world music, "art" rock, and the blues. Classical coverage, which was originally here, continues on the Gapplegate Classical-Modern Review (see link on this page). Where are we right now and how did we get here? That's the concern.

A nice review of the recent Trytone release C.B.G - Les Indignés

“The music never loses the heat; impressionistic collective passages are followed by powerful solos.
A recording that largely meets all the expectations and certainly will be one of the most interesting jazz releases of 2016.”.
